For the AT&T HTC One X, if you have s-on it requires you to manually flash the boot.img of a rom. You do a factory reset and install a previous backup. But you notice it's just in a bootloop right?
THIS WILL ONLY WORK IF YOU MADE A BACKUP WHEN YOU WERE ON THE ORIGINAL AT&T 3.18 JELLY BEAN UPDATE (LIKE AS IN THE BACKUP WAS MADE BEFORE YOU TRIED TO FLASH A ROM.)
Step 1. Keep a cool face
Step 2. Download the 3.18 boot.img: AT&T 3.18 Boot.img
Step 3. Put the downloaded boot.img inside the platform tools folder of sdk. If you need sdk here you go: Android SDK
Step 4:Assuming you have a Windows PC, go to command prompt
Step 5: Direct it to the platform tools folder
Step 6: Boot your AT&T HTC ONE X into bootloader and choose fastboot in the menu. Connect to PC and wait until it changes to FASTBOOT USB on the phone.
Step 7: Once your in the platform tools folder in command prompt, type in: fastboot flash boot boot.img
Step 8: Wait until it finishes in the command prompt and boot again.
VOILA! Your backup should work now and you got past the soft brick
