Having trouble flashing new kernel

I am having trouble flashing a new kernel onto my EVO 3d. I have already flashed ViperROM and it is running...at least until I try to flash a new kernel. I am on HBOOT 1.5 using the TeamWin Recovery. I just want to flash a kernel that will allow me to OC but every time I have tried flashing I get stuck in a boot loop and have to go back and re-flash the boot.img from ViperROM. I have tried flashing with Flash Image GUI and through cmd but neither works. Any help?

what kernel are you tryig to flash? your not trying to flash a 2.3.3 kernel on a 2.3.4 rom?
if you have the OTA update 2.17 theres is no OC kernel yet, HTC hasnt released the source code yet so we,er stuck with the stock kernel

OC kernels work just not the camera preview! At least anthrax test 6 does.

I probably was trying to flash an older kernel to a newer rom. Not sure how to check before flashing though. I just went with a different rom that already came with an OC Kernel. I'm used to flashing on an Optimus V so I'm still getting used to this HBOOT 1.5 stuff.

You should use freezas dual core active script and zepplinrox's v6 supercharger script. IMO its just as fast as OC would be.
