HBO Go--Not compatible with EVO?

I tried to install HBO Go to my Evo today. I have the 2.3 ROM installed on my phone. I get the message that the program is not compatible with my phone. On Engadget, it says that HBO Go will work with Android 2.1-2.3. Anyone know why we can't get this App, or if there is a way to install it outside of the market?

Who's your provider? Comcast by any chance?? I read something that they block the service. Even on PC. Can't find where I read it though.

I just installed this app... installed and works good on on my eVo. Everything works just like advertised.

Pretty cool application!!!

Edit: And my cable provider is Xfinity/Comcast.

I don't even get to the part where you tell them your provider. I am on ATT DSL. The app doesn't show up in my market app, but I went to the web page for the market, and it was there, but it asks me my device, and then says that it is incompatible.

I installed the app on my iPad 2, and it works like a charm. I have Dish Network.

When it asks for you device, lie to it by giving it devices that are on 2.2 until it gives you the .apk, its really doesnt matter what phone usually. An apk is an apk.

The app works well on my EVO too. I have uverse. No problems at all. It Is a really cool app.

Installed it on a stock 2.2 and it works great. so i thought i woudl use my HDMI out cable to play back on my LCD TV. Didn't work. One tv gave me sound but no picture, the other nothing. Any suggestions? Or is this just a limitation of the app/HDMI out?

I read in the reviews that the HDMI out is disabled.

I was able to install it by a roundabout method. I was never able to get it to show up in the market. As I said, I am running the 2.3 stock rom that was released a couple weeks ago. I tried Amazon app store, too and when I ran a search for "HBO" nothing came up. It came up on my son's Epic, and it came up on my iPad, no problem. So I did a google search, found a place that had the apk available for download, and downloaded it to my computer, unpacked the rar, and then emailed it to myself so it would be on my phone. Then I installed from the phone. Once installed, it worked great. I watched Entourage on it last night, no problems. It's a great app if you have HBO.

I have comcast/xfinity and have no issues streaming to my phone or either of my computers. Id like to know where you read this. Ill call my brother and see if knows anything. He works at comcast in Seattle.
