i have been trying to install the hbo go app on my phone with this rom and i'm not able to find it in the market. i went online to the market found it there, signed into my google account and it should of downloaded it to my phone but that didnt work either. so i'm thinking the rom i have on my phone is not allowing it? because it's telling my the app is not compatible with my phone. but when i had the das bamf roms installed to my phone i had no problem getting the app from the market thru my phone. also on this rom i have the old market theme is there any way of getting the new market theme? thanks

easiest thing: manually load the app.
1) download to your phone on another ROM (stock rooted, even--if it shows up)and save the apk.
2) restore your G3dB8 backup and install the app from the sd location using a file manager.
if it won't allow you to install it--it might not work with the ROM framework & you're out of luck. that would explain why you're not seeing it when browsing the market on your phone, but browsing the market online which is unfiltered with device restriction until you choose to download/install.
OR
1) backup current ROM, then load DasBamf backup.
2) find the HBOGO apk and save it to your sd card
3) restore G3dB8, install the apk from the sd card using a file manager

as far as the new market, go here & download the apk. install & confirm 'yes' to replace other application.

(next time, post in the ROMS/HACKS section--might get a faster response since this is dealing with a rooted device/custom ROM :) )

no worries! i'll rephrase :)

you rooted your phone then you loaded the DasBamf and then Gingeritis onto it.
did you make a backup of DasBamf ROM after you customized it with your own apps & settings?
if yes, your HBOGO app is still going to be saved in the data of that backup. So-----
0) if you haven't already, backup your current ROM (using RomManager or rebooting into Recovery. see step 2 below. instead of "restore", choose "backup", then after it's done, boot the phone up & proceed to step 1)
1) reboot into recovery (hold down the power button> tap restart> tap recovery OR open ROM Manager>reboot into recovery)
2) now you're going to restore DasBamf custom backup. you'll do this by performing the following steps:
-you can also do this step by doing the following:(open ROM Manager>manage & restore backups>tap your DasBamf backup)
in recovery:
-using the volume buttons, use the volume down to navigate to "backup and restore"--then press the power button to confirm your choice to enter it
-highlight "restore" and press the power button to confirm your choice
-highlight your DasBamf backup, press the power button to confirm your choice
-if prompted, highlight "yes" and press power button to confirm your choice
-if prompted, highlight "go back" and/or "reboot system now" and press power button to confirm your choice.
-device will then reboot.
3) using a file manager, locate the HBOGO in your ROM (most likely located in this file path:/data/app/HBOGO
4) long press it, COPY, then keep pressing your back key at the bottom of the phone so you're reversing your path until you find your SD card & Paste it onto your SD card
5) reboot into recovery
6) restore Gingeritis custom backup using the same steps in #2
7) using a file manager, navigate to your SD card
8) tap the HBOGO apk (android package) and choose "install"
then see if it allows you to connect/view content.

did the instruction about downloading the new market make sense?
on your phone, visit this forum page you're reading and tap this link http://www.mediafire.com/?ds2v6t2w9e2s0dj
it will automatically begin downloading the new market to your phone (notice it in your status/notification bar?)
once it's done, swipe down your notification bar, tap the file name. then tap "install" and confirm "yes" that it can replace another application (the old market).
then you're good to go!

i understand this can all be a little overwhelming. just keep asking & we'll keep clarifying or pointing you in the right direction

ok, no problem--the phone is still running off of a cached version of what it thinks the market is. so, in order to get the phone to actually load the newer version software elements, you need to clear that cache.
after installing the 3.1.3 version market (from that previous download link), do the following:
home screen of phone>menu>settings>applications>manage applications>tap "ALL">"market">(under the "Market name on the next screen, does it say "version 3.1.3"? if not, your new market version wasn't installed). if it does, then tap clear cache>clear data> then go back to your home screen. now tap your market app icon & you'll agree to the Terms of Service again (potentially) and then your new version UI should show up in the app.
Also--

if you don't make back ups--well. that's not really advised but if you're willing to deal with whatever comes along after potential bad downloads/mods--then have at it, brother :)
in which case--your best bet is to do the following (and see the previous post for instructions to further understand the steps listed here)
1) backup your current ROM (just for this test)--naming it something like "G3DB8"
2) load/flash your DasBamf ROM (if you still have it saved to your sd card)
3) go to the market, download HBOGo. using a file manager, go to the app file path i listed above (data/app) and copy the app apk to your sd card
4) flash your recently made backup "G3DB8"
5) using a file manager, navigate to your SD card, tap the HBOGo app, install it

hope it works!
