Does the note 9 support HD voice (enhanced calling)? I can not find a setting that indicates whether the feature is on or off.
Thanks for your help.

Yes the Note 9 supports HD voice; turning it on depends on your mobile carrier.

Yep, it's carrier related. I've got lte, 4G, and hd when I call.

But, I think hd only works if the number you call has hd as well 🤔

I'm sure someone here can confirm that ....

When I worked at Verizon it was possible the feature isn't active on the line and simply needs to be added via a carrier rep making a feature change.

Might want to check with your carrier.

I have an unlocked phone on Verizon.

I just called them and they told me there was nothing to add or adjust.

When I call another Verizon phone with advanced calling, it sounds great, like it did on my HTC from Verizon. However, I have no choice for video calling like I did before, nor is there a way for me to check.

As others noted, there is no advanced calling or WiFi calling options in the menus.

I am on att and I don't have that feature on my settings. Strange, any reason?
I am also on AT&T; there are no settings to adjust.

For AT&T HD Voice both calling parties need to use AT&T HD Voice-capable smartphones and be within an AT&T HD Voice coverage area.

So you lose WiFi calling when you use unbranded Note on Verizon, and Advanced calling may or may not work, but you have no way to toggle it off/on.

Yes, that about sums it up.

But...

I am pretty sure the advanced calling is working (though no option for video calling) as the audio sounds great. AND the modem on this phone is much better than my HTC 10 was. I am not dropping calls and the signal seems better.

I got this phone by using credit card points, and with a discount, so I am ok with where I am.

The Asurian insurance switched over automatically to this new phone.

Quick correction...

On Verizon, unlocked... settings / connections / mobile networks... there is an option for voLTE calls...
