I was on the internet looking for a new smartphone and I recently ran into a phone called the HDC ONE, a Chinese knockoff version of the HTC ONE. The specs seem pretty good. It looks almost, if not exactly identical to the HTC ONE. It sports a Cortex A7 1.2ghz quad-core processor. It has a resolution of 1280x720, but it has a plastic body instead of the metal one that the HTC ONE has. It even sports the dual front-facing speakers like the HTC ONE. The HTC ONE is definitely the better phone of the two, but at a price of under $200, the HDC ONE has great specs and it is also unlocked too. So, should I get it? Also, has anybody else bought a knock-off version of a smartphone before. If so, how was your experience?

There is a reason it's under $200. That's all I will say.

If you want a budget smartphone, there are better ways to go than a knock off. Check out Blu phones. They are a U.S. brand that makes budget minded phones that will use stock Android going forward. Right now some of their phones are skinned, but will be updated to Stock and all future phones will be stock.

Blu Products: Innovation always one step ahead of the mobile phone market with state of the art technology, brilliant and sexy designs

Another good option for a budget unlocked phone is the Nexus 4. Save up your money and buy something better than a "HDC ONE". You'll be glad you did.

Agreed with the above. What does that phone really have that a nexus 4 doesn't. And then you'll have support by Google.

Thanks a lot guys for your feedback. I honestly considered possibly getting the HDC ONE. I wanted to get something with good specs, but not too expensive. But I also realized from past experiences that you do get what you pay for. Thanks again. I'll continue my search for a smartphone, but I'll stop considering the option of getting the knock-offs lol
