HDMI dropping out

I bought a micro usb to hdmi cable and the Samsung micro usb adapter and the picture and sound keeps dropping out on my tv's. On a little Vizio I have it drops out and reconnects every few seconds, and on my Panasonic it's a little bit longer between the drop outs. I don't really have any idea why.
