I can't decide which gives generally better results. Sometimes HDR+ takes too long, but for still shots it seems to work well.
What do you all prefer?

I use HDR unless an action shot then turn it off. Overall HDR has been better for my shots.

I find myself doing the same thing but was curious what others do.
Thanks!

If you are taking a pic of a stationary subject and can afford the slight pause, HDR+ will always take the best shot.
Wrong. HDR+ only takes better pictures in low indoor light. In outdoor natural light, it makes the picture worse.

Wrong. HDR+ increases the dynamic range of both low indoor light and outdoor natural light. A wider dynamic range brings the image closer to the very wide dynamic range of the human eye.Wrong. HDR+ only takes better pictures in low indoor light. In outdoor natural light, it makes the picture worse.

You are correct in as much as HDR doesn't always work. In photography in particular rules are made to be broken, often with great results. But the majority of the time HDR benefits any lighting situation where capturing a wider range of light more closely approximates what the eye sees. But it doesn't work that way.
