Headphone controls and mic

I am unable to use any of my headphone controls and mic so far. I've tried 3 of them: 1) Klipsch X10i 2) Bowers & Wilkins P5 3) Apple earbuds (understandable).

I was able to use all of them on the iPhone 4 and the first 2 are high end headphones. Does anyone know whether there is a way to fix this. Alternatively, are there other headphones for which the mic and volume controls work? I am used to listening to a lot of music and taking calls as they come in and would appreciate any help.

Just found what you are looking for. In the review the women addressed that it works with only droid phones =) AKG is very good brand in headphones they use AKg's in the studio so I"m assuming these should be good as well along with the good review it has.

I'm a bit miffed by this one as well. I have a pair of Beats by Dr Solo HD with the isonitalk cable which worked just fine with my HTC Droid Inc but while I can hear the mic doesn't work on the Thunderbolt. Now I had another brand of headphones in the closet, Frends The Classic and the work. So I guess I have a set of headphones I can use but not my $$$$ Beats. Which sucks.

As a note both sets show the headphone with mic logo...and when I plug into my car with a normal 3.5mm stereo cable I can use the mic on the phone (I assume this widely reported issue was fixed with an update before I got my phone).

There is an HTC brand headset that has play/skip control. No volume control however.
