Headphone issues

When using headphones since the mm update if my headphone cord gets turned the wrong way audio cuts out and music stops like I removed the headphones from the phone. Problem also occurs on my fiancés s6 edge + but doesn't happen on our surface pro 3 so what could it be?

Either a bad headphone cable if using the same on both or bad headphone jacks on each..
