Headphone remotes

I know the iPhone is littered with little things like this

And since its iPhone, instead of saying that it fits standard headphones, they say "iPHONE COMPATIBLE !!!!!1!!!1!" Thing is, got to check about iPhone accessories, as they sometimes don't work with anything else (grr apple proprietary stupidity)

So I'm asking, has anyone had any success with any form of inline headphone remote like the above?

I have the in-ear headphones from apple. The quality is okay.. but the remote doesn't work. with my regular headphones the sound quality is terrible.

I would pass. I bought a set of earphones for running with my iPod and i tried using it with my Droid and when i plugged it in it would skip tracks. The buttons would do all sorts of things rather than what they should do.

I have the Motorola S9 they will forward and reverse the music,control volume, and anwsers calls. Sound during calls is great they are wireless and go behind the head. They are only 49 dollars. They are sold in the store here.
