Headphones detected but can't play music in Xperia Z1

Hi one week back I have bought Sony Xperia z1 c6902. Up to yesterday it worked fine but at present headphones are not working at all.

Yesterday when I try to play music I got music from headphones and after sometime my mobile gives message that headphones are plugged out and when I try to replug and play the something happens.

At present when I plug my headphones my mobile is giving notification that headphones are plugged in but when I start to play music instead of getting music from headphones from headphones I am getting music from internal speakers.

I don't know what's the problem whether software failure or hardware failure. The same headphones are working fine with other mobiles.

Please suggest a solution.

Sounds like a bad headphone jack. You should still be able to return the phone for an exchange or refund.

I think the issue is not hardware failure because when I plug headphones it is giving notification but when I try to play music instead of getting sound from headphones I am getting sound from internal speakers.

I think headphone Jack and headphones are working but something is wrong with settings or software.
