Headphones in and calling?

Can I have my headphones in and talk to someone through the mic on the phone? Very noobish question but I had to ask since the speaker on my OV sucks.

on the stock ROM, the headphones that come with the phone have a mic and a call button on them.

this mic will work on all calls.


if you have rooted and installed aospCM7 then no it wont work, this feature is broken in this rom.

but it DOES work in the stock rom, and some/all 2.2 roms

I think the OP was actually asking if headphones without a mic on them can be used to answer a phone call use the headphone to hear and the mic on the phone to talk.

Yes you can do it n on any rom now!! if u have aosp update to the newest one and its fixed

just tested it out and it works. came to realize my gf was just mumbling... lmao oh well

WHOA! Are you saying that the newest AOSP has fixed the headphone bug so you can now use the stock headphones to make calls (and the other person can actually hear you)? This is the only bug that has kept me from upgrading to AOSP. If this is true - what amazingly good news!
