"They will challenge your knowledge of your music..."
"Buy these with no doubts..." - The Absolute Sound
Introduced at the January 1994 Las Vegas Consumer Electronics Show, the SR-60 startled everyone with its warm, natural midrange and detailed highs. SR-60's feature a compact, 2.5"-diameter polycarbonate driver housing-ideal for both home and portable applications.
The new SR60i won "Product of the Year" honors in England's What Hi-fi?. "These are as good as any cans in their class," raves the magazine. Low frequencies punch heftily, yet stop punctually, while voices in the midrange are as loaded with character and expression as you're likely to hear. Treble, likewise, is deft and rapid."
Upgraded Driver and More
What does the letter 'i' stand for in the new SR60i from Grado? Improved, that's what! Grado has taken one of the world’s most legendary headphones and taken it a few steps further.
The new SR60i has an upgraded driver design, and they have enlarged and improved the mass distribution in the plastic housing. The way the SR60i's new driver and plastic housing move air and react to sound vibrations are now less affected by transient distortions. With the SR60i you will notice improved control of the upper and lower range of the frequency spectrum with both better supporting Grado's world renowned midrange. And The SR60i will produce a sound that is pure Grado, warm harmonic color, rich full bodied vocals, excellent dynamics and an ultra smooth top end.
Triple "Best" Award Winner
"This fine pair of cans won a Best Buy in the Awards 1999 [issue] and is back again to claim its place on the rostrum," observes England's prestigious What Hi-Fi? magazine in its special Awards 2002 issue. "Why? Well, quite simply the Grado SR60s sound brilliant." So brilliant, the magazine once again awarded them "Best Buy" status.
According toWhat Hi-Fi?, "They have a remarkably airy, open sound, and this quality gives them a marvelous ability: they will challenge your knowledge of your music collection… as a piece you've listened to regularly for years suddenly reveals a hitherto buried instrument."
If that isn't enough, the SR60 won the "Best Hi-fi Headphones" award in the Awards 2005 issue. "These open-backed Grados have been around awhile, but they are absolutely quality throughout," raves the magazine.
"The Mighty Mouse of Headphones"
The Absolute Sound magazine rated the Grado SR60 as the "Best Headphones" in the Winter 08 / Spring 09 issue. "The Mighty Mouse of headphones, Grado's SR60 boasts superb midrange transparency and natural dynamics."
