Hello all,

I was wondering what headphones, with microphone, everyone likes for the DX. I'm thinking about buying the bose mie2 headphones I just wanted to know what other people use? Also do the ones you name have music controls? Thanks!!

In my opinion - anything from Boise is worth buying.

I'm using a cheap headphone and it works OK. I'm getting a Boise this weekend though.

I have no issues with Bose since I do have the Companion 5 speakers for my laptop and I like Bose but they are overpriced. I tested some other Logitech speakers out and they sound just as good without the price tag.

Check out V-Moda's set. ::: v-moda ::: remix From my past experience, I like v-moda way better and they sound much better. I have compared them to Bose and Bose again, is nice but V-Moda has better bass. I think for the average user who just wants to listen to music, both are good but for quality, V-moda gets my vote. I myself are waiting for the Vibrato to come out.

And I only say Bose and V-moda just because I have used both and not just in store but used them for more then 2 hours.

Good luck finding headphones that have working music controls for the Droid X.

I have tried about six pairs of headphones and none of them fully work. The mic works with all of them but the music controls don’t, and the phone controls don’t either.

The one set that I am using now is the HTC EVO oem set bought from Amazon. They are dirt cheap but they sound fantastic. The music controls only pause and un-pause music and phone controls only answer calls NO end calls. Everyone I have called with these says the mic works great.

I even tried the Apple “taplineII” configured headphones by Scosche and those didn’t work either.

I really wanted a fully functioning CORDED set of hearphones w/mic but there is something wrong with moto blur or the Android OS when it comes to the Droid X.

Try the Moto ROKR S305 bluetooth headset. Everything works with these, great sound too. Full music controls, volume controls, phone controls, voice commands, they even have a micro usb charging port so you don’t have to carry extra cables or adaptors.

Have you tried using Winamp? They seem to work but you will need to figure out the controls because I used it with the iPhone earpbuds and it worked but the volume buttons play/pause the music and the other buttons didn't work.

Yup, I use winamp.

I can pause and un-pause but nothing else with any corded headphones.

The apple controls somewhat work, but the mic doesn't as the third and forth wires are reverse with apple devices. One wire is ground and the other is for the mic. The Scoche Apple buds are the best I have experienced but the mic just wont ever work.

I know its an issue with the OS or Moto Blur because Android 2.2 wouldn't allow me to answer phone call with the inline controls, but Andriod 2.2.1 will let me answer phone calls I just can't end them.

Google really needs to address this and make some sort of standard for their phones. Droid X is the only phone that I have heard that has this issue.

This really is a bummer.

I want a fully functioning corded headphone w/mic and inline controls. Corded headphones save on the phones battery life as it doesn't have to broadcast bluetooth, it saves you from having to charge a second battery in the headset unlike bluetooth, and its smaller and more pocketable than bluetooth.

One thing I was thinking about was using a Bluetooth "clip". Its one of those smaller bluetooth devices that fully support all the protocols for voice and music and it has a 3.5 mm jack. That way you can use what ever type of headphone you might find comfortable. For me, there was one issue: I can't find any that use a micro usb charging port. I am not going to carry around a second adaptor or cable to charge my bluetooth.

Thats really why I like the Moto S305 so much, it has the micro usb connection. Plus it has fully functional voice and music controls.
