Heat/CPU issues?

So I haven't had an Android phone in years, coming from an iPhone 6S Plus. One thing I noticed right away, and concerned me, was the heat coming from this phone. The Aluminum backing makes it worse seems like. My iPhone never got this hot, and also was aluminum. Is this normal?? It happens during normal usage. Not even playing a game, just browsing apps, web, etc.

I installed CPU-Z and CPU Temp, and the high got to around 65 - 68 C degrees. Again, that was just normal usage. I got the official case for the phone, and thankfully it makes it easier to hold. But I hope it's not creating more heat by trapping the heat, and affecting the "heat sink" that the aluminum is there for.

Thanks for any insight.

I'm going to run a benchmark tool and see what I get. Maybe it was 58, but pretty sure the reading was 68. I'll update later.

Just ran AnTuTu benchmark, and the high was 70. I think that's fine for a benchmarking tool. But right before that, I was running a game (Crossyroads) and the temp overlay from CPU Temps went up to 80!! And that's when the phone was on the lock screen. I don't think this app is accurate, like, very inaccurate.

If anyone else has any insight with this phone, let me know. I'm considering returning it and staying with my iPhone. We'll see. Thanks!

Is the phone unable to be held? Something that's hot to you isn't hot to the phone.

The 6P, well the snapdragon 810 foes overheat and throttle easily. My 6P runs at least 10-20 degrees hotter than my S7E at all times except idle. Nothing you can do but blame the toaster of the 810

I haven't noticed heat issues. If anything it runs cooler than my Nexus 6 with an 805 snapdragon. I think this version of the 810 is both fast and cool. It seems the 810 released in early 2015 had issues though. But like I said I rarely experience excessive heat even when playing games.

Cool. Yeah I'll probably get used to it. My case is helping too. I got a bumper too so it can cool better and just for light weight protection.

Yeah, Crossy Road on Android is a huge power hog. For some reason it makes all phones I've owned run hotter than even some games that are actually graphically intensive.

Yeah since I haven't ran it on my phone, it's been just fine. I'll probably send them a support message
