Yes, mine warms up after use, but the volume rocker switch doesn't seem unusually loose.

I think the volume button will be fine. It has "slide" but doesn't feel like it's going to fall out.

As for heat sure. Like any smartphone if its being used quite a bit it's going to heat up. I'm suprised that it doesn't heat up as much as muh HTC Touch Pro did from prolonged use (I was on the WiFi for about an hour straight doing a ton of application downloads to the screen was on the whole time) and then made about 10 calls. It was "warm" but not "hot" when I compare it to my previous large screened smartphones.
