Heating up regularly

Phones always run hot the first day or so, you're using it constantly and downloading tons of apps and updates.

it's been on airplane mode since I unboxed it... the SIM card was removed even before I turned the G4 on for the very first time.

I did let it charge to 100%, then started playing with it. It just went down to 15% this afternoon... showing only a 3 hours a few minutes of screen on time. Is this normal? Guess I should let the battery break in a few times.

The battery life isnt the best on this device. It can be that the quad hd screen is eating up alot of juice. I heard the s6 is more power efficient so its hard to say. However i believe LG could have done better with the software to make the device more power efficient

I never saw this before i just posted my own. I've had my g4 since june and has worked perfectly since then until last week. Began over heating and draining a full battery to 0 in a few hours with little use (used to get 6-8 with no heat). Telus sent me a brand new replacement phone, and within a few hours of use this brand new phone has began doing the same thing. Software issue???

I have same issue since i updated to marshmallow. I think it happens when there is an app update, everytime it heats up, i check the play store, and there are apps that need updates

And no idea how to stop this from happening, as if i dont have the phone close by, the battery would die on me in less than 30 minutes because of the heat

Try switching your network mode to "GSM Only", this is what Rogers told me regarding this situation where it's overheating due to the antenna struggling to get and keep LTE service where the towers either don't support it or are far away. I too have had my phone replaced with the exact same outcome on the replacement phone
