Did it say USB debugging?

Yes, On my non 2014 note it's in developers options.

Sorry, I am too vague, It was easy on my old note, now that I also have a 2014 I cant find developers options or any other menu to find the usb debugging box to check.

Settings..about device...tap build number 6 or 7 times.
