The wife :-* will never use the phone for anything other than Phone, email and text, so no need to spend the extra $50

Ya but in a year you may need more space as apps get larger and also for resale. In 2 years 8GB will be peanuts. Your call but for $50 i think it adds way more value in the long run. My 2 cents.

Yeah only problem using the Gmail app to notify you about Nexus 4 stock is that many like me didn't get the email until LONG after the phone sold out.

I got my email right when they came online. And I have one in my hand so... It worked.
