Good Day!

So I'm 23 years young and have used Windows Phones for the past 3 years (my first ever smartphone was an LG Optimus 7...good ol' days)

I didn't really have any complaints and loved my Lumia 925, until it decided to die on me for no reason exactly after my warranty had expired.

I just ordered an LG G3 (it has yet to arrive).

Any tips and tricks I should know about? e.g. migrating my contacts etc from my Microsoft account to my google account?

Can I use the google account I use on youtube? (it's my Hotmail email address, but I think it's my google account too :S)

Anyways... Hi folks :D

Hello and welcome to Android Central🙋
I use both Windows Phone and Android myself and have both Google and Microsoft accounts on various devices with no problems. I think you should be okay. :)

The LG G3 is a very good device, have fun and enjoy!

Welcome to the forums. If the Google account is a gmail, then yes, you may use it.

Hi and welcome to Android Central!

You don't need to get rid of your Microsoft Account. I'm using Android in addition to Windows/Windows Phone. I created a new Google account and imported my Microsoft account contacts into my Google account for my phone numbers.

Otherwise, I installed the Outlook Preview app, which I'm using for both my new Google account (for the Play Store only) and my outlook.com account (for everything else).

Check out my review here.

If your android OS does not let you protect the login to your emails, you could make a new email account to use just with your phone. That's what I do. If my phone is ever lost or stolen, I don't have to worry about people getting access to my important work emails
