Hi there,

I am new to Android and tablet, "over the hill" w/ 2 kids in university, got my wife a new Acer A200 last weekend so that she can learn about this "thing", also for me to get to learn the technology :)

I found the Acer A200 pretty good, except for a few complaints as follows:

1. Wi-Fi seems easily "cut out", or stop working, perhaps associated with a system update, that I had to reboot my modem router.
2. Real issue: cannot download Flash Player 11 to watch some TV at times, certain TV shows made available by CTV as The Big Bang Theory, etc. I don't need to watch TV that often, but if this A200 with ICS 4.0.3 cannot load Flash Player 11, I may as well return it to Future Shop, when I can within the 14 day limit.

Any thoughts, should I return the A200 because of no flash player feature/bug?

Many thanks!

Welcome to AC!!

1. Have you checked to make sure it's not the router? As in, have you tried using other devices on your WiFi to make sure you don't experience any issues?

Great question! I do remember one time that my netbook can't seem to connect to my home Wi-Fi as well, that means you have a good point.

I found a colleage who is an avid Tablet user, who gave me some tips, when I showed him this article:
Android Flash Player RIP: How to Get it Now That it's Gone | PCWorld

The provide androidcentral's article is great, but the link inside from Google Play no longer provides the apk file for the A200, which is actually a certified Flash Player device (FP11.1). However the PC World article above provides archives that, as we speak, seem to have what I need.

I am at work now, hopefully when going home, the archives are still available :). Then I can download to my laptop, USB linked to the A200, and "unzip" the FP11.1 from the tablet.

I'll let you know if I can successfully load FP 11.1 (which I actually have not, as Google Play simply denied access to FP 11).

Cheers,

If that is the case, try using your device on another router. If you have another one, or, try on a friends or something. That way you can see if you have the same problem. If you don't. Time to troubleshoot your routher.

Yea, I'm sure it'll be there. I look forward to hearing of your success. Good luck!!
