I switched from iPhone 15 Pro max, to Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra. I got some questions as I have NEVER used Android before.

How do I NOT let my phone upload pictures to Google service? I took one selfie, and somehow it showed up in Google Photos. I want everything on my phone to be kept only on my phone without being sent to Google.

Everytime I open something my phone asks me to pick one of the few apps. Most of the times it's something like "do you want to open this in Samsung XXX or Google XXX" I assume I should go with Samsung apps?

Is there an iCloud alike feature? Ex, backup my whole phone, FindMy( I found this in Samsung Account), remote access Notes, Photos, Reminders etc from a website version of "iCloud"

So I have Apple watch and AirPods Pro. How do I connect those to this Samsung phone?

Welcome to Android Central! I moved this from the Introductions forum to the S25 forum since your post is primarily a bunch of questions.

Assuming you have the Google Photos app installed, open it, tap your profile pic at the upper right, then the Backup option, and then turn the toggle off for automatic backups.

When you're opening something, are you talking about a website? Your choice of app is up to you. It sounds like you may be wary of Google's privacy policies, but be aware that the terms of service for various Samsung apps often mention being able to share your data with 3rd parties (while Google does not do this).

The analog to iCloud is Google Drive, as well as other Google services like Google Contacts, Google Photos, Google Keep. You can read more here: https://support.google.com/android/answer/2819582?hl=en. Samsung uses OneDrive as well (which is tied to Microsoft).

The Apple Watch is completely incompatible with Android (as opposed to WearOS watches, which can be used with both Android and iPhones). You can connect AirPods to any device by following the Bluetooth pairing steps, but I think you can only use them for listening to media and making calls on Android devices, and won't be able to use some of the extra features that are available with iPhone (like spatial audio and Siri).

Hello and welcome to the forums at Android Central!

I see Diddy already help you, I just want to add, that Google and Samsung offer a feature to find your phone, you'll need to check them both and decide if you use both, or just one.

They also offer to back up your phone, you would need to agree to their terms first, of course.

For the option to use 1 out of 2 or more apps, you can choose the one you like best and the option for always or just once at the bottom.
