Hey Hey !!
I came to this forum to seek some help ! :)
I've got a Samsung Galaxy S3. A couple weeks ago, i've discovered that it won't connect to my PC (Windows 8.1) anymore.
When i use a USB cable (could be an official SAMSUNG cable, or other like a Nokia/PS4/Xbox One cable) and connect my pc to my phone, my phone charges and i get a "USB device not recognized" error mesage on my pc...
I've got no way to access my phone's files..... I can connect other phones (and a month ago i could connect mine), so i don't know whether it's a phone/PC problem ..... :/
I tried alot of things before comming here !!!
I tried to install Samsung Kies, to reinstall many different versions of phone drivers and to use other programs but nothing could detect my phone...I even tried to connect my phone on other PCs but still the same thing
My phone is on the 4.3 version and was bought in France

I really appreciate any help i can get :)

Welcome to the forums.
Have you tried to update Samsung drivers for your PC? I think they are available on Samsungs website.

thanks UJ95x :) i'm getting wonderfull replies :)
Well i got the drivers throughout kies, but can't seem to find the drivers alone on Samsung's site ..... but aren't the drivers provided by kies and those that can be downloaded on the website the same ??

They are, but I have heard of instances where they don't update properly.

Welcome to the forums at Android Central! 🙋

About your issue, many people have complained that after a recent update to windows, many smartphones are having that same problem you have.
So I guess is up to Microsoft to patch things right.

Welcome to the community. It's good to use usb 2.0. Sometimes 3.0 can give problems.

Sent from my nifty 2 year old AT&T HTC One XL

thanks for a warm welcome :)
as for stargate's advice, i tried to connect my phone to my friend's tablette, an asus transformer pad ( or something like this) running on an android OS ....
Still nothing :'( Phone charges, but not detected as device and i get no message on my phone as i used to ( conected as mass storage or something of the sort)

Welcome to Android Central! I hope you find a good solution here.
