Hi everyone, I am new to Android Central and the Android OS. My name is Ian Hackett, I live in Brampton, Ontario, part of the Greater Toronto area, I work in Mississauga, ON for Schneider Electric, I currently handle all Canadian returns for APC products, it is a busy position with its fair numbers of headaches.
I use Windows at work, primarily using an iMac at home.
I am a former Blackberry user for 6 years, made the switch to iPhone in 2010, last Apple mobile device was iPhone 5 which after 3 years stills works the same as on day 1. My wife is now using it mostly for calls/texts, she is not much for using apps, simply not interested in doing that.
One of my co-workers is using a Samsung Note 3, he will likely upgrade soon. I have been looking at it for more than 1 year, like the appearance and functionality and decided it was time for me to make a change. I was considering the Note 5 but coming from iPhone decided the Note 4 is a better choice for me. I like the removable battery, can't do that with Apple products, also the ability to use a micro sd card for additional storage was a big factor. I bought the Note 4 last Saturday and have spent a fair amount of time learning about the device. I have read numerous posts on the forum and have found many to be very useful. I still have a lot to learn about using Android and the Note 4 which I look forward to doing.
I will visit the forum often, not sure I can contribute much advice yet, the learning curve is definitely different than on previous devices. I do appreciate the contributors who's posts I had read to date. Thanks for being here.
