Help an idiot.....

So I rooted and downloaded the overclock widget yesterday and all seemed good yesterday. Today powered up fine (even made a call and sent a few texts/emails) and now all I get is a blank screen. The home keys light up at the bottom but nothing on the screen. I removed the batterty and then tried to power up....all I get is the standard samsung/verizon power up logos then blank! What can I do??!??!??!?

helo idiot. lol jk. we learn from experiance. dont overclock your phone. thats dumb. you dont get enough improvment to justify posible hardware damage imo. you can also do things like blak your screen and get force closes and such. oh and you will reduce an already poor battery even more.

do a factory reset and cache wipe. that should get you to boot up again.

if you are gonna screw around with overclocking then you need to make sure you have a kernel that supports user adjustments of the clock speeds.

there are also overclocked kernels available that are already "stable".

Thanks for the reply.....but you're talking to the idiot, remember? How do I do a factory reset when I can't get it to power up? (And yes, I see the problem with not knowing how to do that and overclocking!!! )

it is a good idea to read the whole thing. and then read it again. there is a lot of good info there from alot of different people.

i will give you one word of advice: never panic. you cant possibly screw up your phone worse than i have. take a look at some of my threads. you will get an education and a laugh! if you havent broken any hard ware with your overclocking you will be fine.

Take battery out and put it back in. Press and hold volume up AND volume down along with the power button. That should get you into recovery

take out the battery, then plug it into your computer while holding down the volume key, this should get you to download mode. Then use odin to flash a stock image of dl09 the instructions can be found on the forum somewhere, im in class or i would provide links

lol. no need to be scared of anything. i have done some really stupid crap to my phone, not all of it by acident. the thing to remember is that unlike some moto devices, the fascinate cant bricked with software. the exception to that rule is overcolcking. overclocking does stuff to your hardware. if you damage or break your processor, well now you really do have a brick. i have flashed roms using the phone button in odin, i have flashed nonvoodoo over voodoo kernels. i have flashed multiple roms and not cleared cache or data for like 20 times in a row, i have mixed up kernel with the wrong roms. most of this is to know what happens. some of this is because i stayed up to late and did stupid crap.

remember the folks here are great and have been in your place(maybe not my place, but most certianly your place, lol) and know what its like to freak out because you think you just broke your 600 dollar phone.
