Help: Any way to see "Recent Contact" list?

Just got my new Evo and I love it. Only one thing though. On every phone I've had before this when I was sending a text I could go to a "Recent Contacts" list to pick a name. Does the EVO not have this or am I missing something?

If you are viewing a text conversation, press the return button and a list of conversations comes up by contact.

After reading my post I dont think I was very clear.

Lets say I want to send someone a text. I go to messages, then to "New Message". I now have a blank texting form. Now on all my old phones at this point when I wanted to enter someones name i could go to a "recent contacts" list to select if i wanted too. It would show a shorter list then my entires Contacts folder and was convenient because it would always be last people I texted.

But try as I might I cant seem to find a similar list on my EVO.

Well you can do it via Contact or as you did from Message, now when you open new template just type few letter or number depending on how you label the contact it will auto complete the rest. Or from recent message you can highlight the contact's SMS then click menu to send reply or new SMS.
