I just replaced my LG v10 due to it saying Check network connection and try again at random times many times a day. Now, the new phone grays out the data button on the notification bar and in the settings, where I cannot turn data off or on. Anyone ever see this issue? If I turn the phone off and back on, it seems to fix it for the moment. Any responses to this would be great. Thanks.

Who is your carrier and do they have sufficient signal coverage? Mine will do that when I am out of cell coverage.
 
AT&T. Great coverage here. No issues, especially because it has happened where I have always had good coverage.
