Help Before I smash this Phone!!

I need to know if I am doing something wrong or what I need to do to make it at least try and work right.I installed a diffetent message app on my phone(chomp sms). I then went into the system app and unchecked everything, then went into settings on the new app and check it .was the default message app now. But when I send a text everytime I get a exclamation point staying message. Not sent so I try and resend it and get the same thing ,so I am not sure if it was recived one time,two times, or not at all.Most of the times it is usally sent and recived eveytime ,What I am in need of is help in resloving this problem

The way I understood it was. He unchecked the notification settings in the stock messaging app and enabled them in the new messaging app he installed. Although its hard to help without any knowledge of what app he installed.

I went ito the settings of the message app that came with the phone and I unchecked retrive messages,delete old messages.I am sorry I forgot to put down the app I downloaded it is chomps sms .I really dumb when it comes to my phone I am just learning as I go along,so I will proably be needing a lot more help, Again I am very sorry for not putting down all the info that is needed for someone to help me.
