I have a rooted Evo with unrevoked3 and my usb is broken and it is going back to Sprint and I need to unroot it before I send it back. A lot of forms show how to do it with the usb plugged in and I have tried to just move the files to the sd card and then try with no luck. Please help!

If it makes your life easier, Sprint doesn't care if a phone is rooted. Just send it back.

^^ as long as root isn't the problem (e.g. OC-ing and frying your cpu) then yes. But, if you can download a stock PC36100.zip from the latest RUU (or anywhere), put it in root of sdcard, and boot to bootloader, that will unroot your phone...i just can't find a link right now

edit: but that wasn't using unrevoked..here check this out

[GUIDE] How to Unroot the EVO in 2 STEPS - xda-developers

Tried that method and it wont work. I guess I will reset the phone and send it back, dont want anyone having my info. Will that hurt the phone if I do a reset?
