HELP: Cannot boot into Recovery to Flash ROM?

i just powered off and rebooted into recovery, i think it was the rom i was using because after i flashed the new one it stopped giving me problems

I am still using .0.1.2. I will wait for something newer than .0.1.3. I installed BB .3, p3 kernel and 928 black glass last night with no problems.

Cannot get into clockwork Fix ( well for me it was)

If you cannot get into clockwork, this is what I did. I flashed to SPRecovery, restarted phone then flashed back to Clockwork Recovery. It worked for me. Maybe it will work for you.

Clockworkmod recovery

I tried to install the latest jrummy rom and when it rebooted it did not go into the normal installation. The phone just tries to reboot and it keeps getting stuck on the droid eye boot animation. I have backups on the sd card but can't get the phone to boot into recovery mode so I can restore a backup. Any ideas?

Thanks

Turn the phone off. Then hold the power button and X at the same time. Should boot you into recovery.

Next time when tryin to flash the Rom. Flash SpRecovery first (its the alternate recovery in Rom Manager)and then flash ClockworkMod Recovery right after it. Reattempt to download the Rom and reboot. Should work.

No luck

Tried that a few times. Any other suggestions? I am afraid my phone may be bricked.

OK. I'm a total idiot right now. Custom recovery does not show up for me. Clockwork recovery is the only thing I can get to come up in recovery mode. It used to show up as SP Recovery. This is only the third ROM flash I've done. It seems I can't get anything to look at the "Custom Recovery" folder on my SD card. The actual backup that I'm trying to use is in there named recovery.img, but it just tells me "no files found"

Ok, I'm going to try the "erase" option. If that doesn't work, I'll try 2.0.1.2; it just keeps booting me back into my current ROM, too.

All you need to do is go into settings and make sure you have the option to delete previous recovery when you flash a new one. Then flash the new recovery twice. I don't know if 2 times is necessary but it couldn't hurt.

This advice worked great. I was having issues getting into recovery mode on my droid and that did the trick. Thanks!
