Help closing apps.

Coming from a bb, how do you close out apps? If I hold my menu button down, it shows me 6 or apps that I guess are running (like Opera Mini, Comapss, Contacts Search, Market, etc...). If I click on them to bring them up, there is still no close action anywhere that I can find.

some apps will close (like astro) is you press the "back" key to exit the app instead of home, but on android, there is no need to close apps. the OS will keep the app running in the background, and then kill it automatically when it needs to free up RAM for another app you want to run.
