Help! Contacts not syncing!

So for the 2nd time in less than a year, my phone took a bath. First time it went into the washing machine in a pants pocket, this time I groggily dropped it into the cat's water dish (couldn't make that shot again if I tried).

The first time I got a replacement, it was easy. I synced back with my google account, and all my contacts came down. This time, it's only bringing down my gmail address book.

Did I do something to my google account that could have caused this, or is there something else wrong?

I managed to find a backup of the contacts from a few days before my phone took a bath an import that. Whew.

I've never really had much problem with a re-sync. I change roms quite a bit and generally have to perform an initial setup/sync for the new installs. On some occasions, it takes quite a bit longer than what I would refer to as "normal" before the contacts return completely. I have also had a few occasions where I had to manually tell the phone to sync in order to recover all of my contacts.

Either way, glad you got your peoples back.
