Help.. Droid 2 global or Droid Pro

Hello everyone, I need help deciding on an Upgrade phone. I currently use the Motorola Droid 1.. I am trying to decide between the Motorola Droid Pro or the Motorola Droid 2 Global. I have heard the droid 2 global has overheating problems due to the processor and they randomly shut down as a result of this. Can anyone help me with their opinion on one versus the other and why you think I should pick that option? Thanks.

It depends on what you want something closer to the d1 or an always their keyboard with a smaller screen. I would say go for the d2g but that's just me though the dpro is still very nice

Yeah.. I mainly do a lot of texting and applications of all sorts. I very rarely use the device for a phone hah.

I have had the D2G for about two weeks now and have not had any issues with overheating or shutdowns. When looking and deciding between the D2G and Pro I just felt that the keyboard on the Pro would be just too small for me and really wanted a larger screen.

Haven't seen any overheating issues with the D2G, my X gets hotter but I also make it work a lot more. If it's an issue for you there's always programs like SetCPU that can be used to underclock the CPU to D2 levels.

The only real way to answer the D2G vs. Pro question is to go the Verizon and try them out. I went D2G because of the larger screen and since I don't see myself using the physical keyboard, holding the Pro in my hand just didn't do anything to change my mind. Coming from a Tour the BB-style keyboard is a two-thumb thing for me, Swype is a one thumb keyboard and easier when walking. Now if there was an X Global that would have made things much more interesting...

Personally, I think the Droid 2 Global is a better device. My wife has the Droid Pro and it is good for her, but it doesn't seem to be as high end like the Droid 2. Plus, I am partial to the bigger screen.

Came from a BB Tour to the D2G. I didnt like the small keyboard on the BBT and the smaller screen wasnt working for me anymore either. So far the D2G has been an excellent phone and its browser is light years better and faster then the BB was. If you like your D1 form then get the D2G.
