So, I currently have hydrorom on my optimus, however just looking at it, setCpu seemed like it had more customization options etc. so I downloaded that one. I just had a couple questions.
First of all, is setCpu even compatible with hydrorom?
I've been using it for like 3 days. I have overclocked my phone to 768(max)245(min) main and 245(max)122(min) when the screen is off. However, my phone still lost like 70% of the battery while I was at school today, and I pretty much didn't use it at all.
Secondly, if it does work with hydrorom, any tips/something I'm doing wrong?
Thanks for the help guys.

Which governor are you using?
It could be a different app that it draining the battery. Did you install any other apps as well?
EX. Slacker radio (even when it is not in use) drains my battery, so when I am not using it i keep it frozen.

Always happy to help, hit that thanks button if I did

Even better IMO would be to disable mobile data while you aren't using it in school, or just hopping onto their wi-fi if they have any.

From my experience the phone radios tend to soak up a lot of the battery, especially when signal is low. If SetCPU was working for you and your phone really was downclocked when the screen was off, then I believe mobile data would be the culprit. Signal in schools isn't always that great =/

If you are dead set on not using your phone at all during school, airplane mode would be your battery's best friend.

Well I used that setCpu thread but overall I don't think it is much different from my setup in terms of saving battery life.
However, you're right, I have terrible connection in 3 or 4 of my classes.
Does having bad connection use more power? Because if so, I'll definitely test out the airplane mode and just switch it off when I need it.
Thanks for the help guys.

Does having bad connection use more power?

Indirectly it does. Having a bad signal itself doesn't cause drain, but it causes the radio to spend more power to search for a better signal.

I usually leave my phone in airplane mode whenever I go into the subway to save my battery.

Whats your best setting for saving battery? I tend to stream a lot of music using Audiogalaxy and Google Music, but usually my screens off while music is playing.

I use SmartassV2 with 600-250MHz. the I/O scheduler is set to 'deadline' and i'm using No frills.

If I recall, there should be a powersave governor and a conservative governor. You could try experimenting with those to see which would give you better results.

You are constantly streaming from cellular data though, so I honestly do not expect there to be a substantial improvement. Let us know with your findings!
