New to the site. Hoping for some help with my droid x2. will not stay charged for a day after charging all night. phone does not auto update and I think this may be contributing to my lack of charge. Phone is less than a year old. Is my battery toast? Or is something else causing the problem? Task manager shows all apps not running when I check?? Can anyone help...?

Welcome to Android Central.

Usually when it comes to poot battery life it comes down to something running or installed that is killing the battery..

Examples, email or social media sync'ed or polling to frequently putting a drain on the battery.

Radio signal quality, if your device is constantly fighting to obtain and keep a signal this is also a big hit on the battery not to mention if your using 4g a lot.

Screen brightness, keep that at a minimum and not on automatic...

3rd party task killers or battery savers are normally more bad than good.

Some suggestions to think over..

Good luck, enjoy the forums.

Hello and welcome. The first thing that I would recommend you do, is to replace the battery. Batteries of a life span of 6-8 years, anytime after that its performance deteriorate. And that battery should be replaced. However, your problems could be caused by something totally different.
