HELP HTC ONE or GALAXY S4?!

Why with the hostility? It's just a discussion of phones. Do you seriously think HTC is going to reveal how many phones are returned for poor build quality. The best a prospective buyer can do is research the Internet and Forums like this and see what defects are being reported for the phones they are considering. If the reports for HTC ONE build defects far out number reports of S4 build defects then the preponderance of the evidence would suggest that the HTC ONE has more build defects than the S4. That method would apply to a comparison of any phones not just the HTC ONE and the S4. It doesn't have to be the only criteria. But no mater how good a phone looks and feels in your hand is if it falls apart their is something seriously wrong with the manufacturing process.

You are so full of it, consumers can find out these numbers, and for your sake you should. You act like if these numbers are conspiracy secrets that people are not allowed to know out about. Please stop making a fool of yourself and stop posting comments like this.

Because you don't actually have any proof that the HTC one is plagued by build quality problems, yet you assert that it's a significant problem. So yes, I show some hostility to people who assert conjecture as fact. Maybe there are rampant build quality problems, but you don't know that there are.

And lets think about this for a second. The HTC One has been praised for it's build quality and construction. Is it not surprising, then, that people who do have problems like some dead pixels or the "gap" problem are going to get on the internet and scream about it? You can't take what you read on the internet to be representative of the average. Most people who buy an HTC one will not be blogging about it, or posting in forums like these. I just get annoyed reading posts that say the HTC one is plagued by build quality issues. One guy in this forum asserted that every HTC One he came across (which we are to assume is many) had problems. The likelihood of that is just very low, even if you're looking for problems.

If you say so but still no reason for hostility.

12 grams is a considerable amount of difference .. I could feel the difference immideatly. The s4 in my opinion felt like a toy.

Question, have you taken a chemistry lab? I'm not trying to be rude, or insulting, or condescending. But if you've taken a chemistry lab, and had to weigh out substances in the 10-30 g range, you will know how insignificant that weight is to the average human. There is no way that your average human could consistently distinguish the difference of 12 g in phones that already weigh 130-140g. Absolutely no way. If you can tell the difference, then you sir, are a god among men.

OK, you are a consumer tell me where to find out how many phones were returned to HTC for poor build quality. I will retrieve that information ASAP. Seriously, I'd like to know. I'm sure there are literally thousands of people who would like to know those figures. Please tell me where consumers can find these numbers.

I came across three. Brand new from three different stores. All three had a rough edge, gaps and the speaker grills were either too high or too low and not flush with the screen. Not a huge deal but I just didn't like scraping my finger across the edge of the glass at the top of the screen when I checked my notifications. Also, the gaps and misalignment of the screen didn't effect the performance of the phone. A lot of you guys get too defensive. We're not saying all of the htc ones have these problems. Just that it's something to look out for if you decide to get one.

I'm not interested in the figures because my phone is fine, so no thank you. HTC has been around for a long time, the put a lot of time into the hardware of this phone so I feel positive they will stand behind their product if I encounter any issues.

Look, you know and I know those figures regarding how many HTC ONEs were returned because of build issues are not available to the consumer. Why you said they were is a mystery to me. You made a statement that I believe isn't true and now you are back peddling. I'm not holding you feet to the fire but you've made statements about posting things in this thread that have no basis in fact and now you've done exactly that. Having said that, if you can tell me where a consumer can find out how many HTC ONEs were returned for build issues I will issue a formal apology right here in this thread.

For build quality its not that many, because they have already issued a statement what is considered defective and hardly any phones are falling into that category. Here is a link discussing what is considered poor build quality.

And he are some screen shots from the BBB to give you an idea of how many customers can't get their problems resolved through normal communication with either samsung or HTC. The numbers of what these returns are for in regards to the specific phones are not out yet because it is too soon. There are plenty of websites that offer statistics for specific defects on products.

Added; Samsung has about 100 mobile products and HTC has about 40. So by doing this math and referring to the BBB reports we can see that most consumers have to file more complaints with Samsung based on the number of products available for mobile devices.

The Better Business Bureau? Ha ha ha ha.......

Are you guys seriously just going to ignore the three warnings you've been given? Two by me, and one by Jerry. Get the conversation back on track or else. And no, dissing the phones and insulting each other is NOT on track.

Yes, yes they are. Going back and forth about the same point for multiple pages isn't helpful. There's more than enough information in this thread for the OP.

Everyone needs to go back and read what Jerry said. I didn't quote it on purpose.

Closed.
