Fanboy spotted

At the risk of being hypocritical and posting a reply in this thread I have to say that's bs. Presenting factual evidence of a known build quality issue doesn't make you a fanboy. Refuting every piece if evidence that's in front of you and accusing others of being fanboys when you don't like what you see I believe places you in the fanboy gene pool.

But a potential buyer should be aware of the poor quality build of the HTC ONE identified in these posts and articles.
Of course they should, but it doesn't mean you have to shove it down their throats in every "HTC one vs. S4" discussion or exaggerate subjective opinions ("OMG, my HTC One caught fire and burned down our house and next 15 blocks in our city!") to a FUD level... Or jump on a bandwagon together with people who do that (that's a hint for you ;)). Besides, even new people are capable of reading all the threads in forums, especially the always-on-top "This is the BUGS thread" stickied thread (I did recommend moderators to change the name of the thread to "issues and problems" but that never happened).

I'm just busting your gym balls. I don't thinks its build quality but I can say they did not deliver on their promise of zero gap. Its like a half *** zero gap in my opinion. Buts its still sexy as hell!

These back and forth posts are hilarious. As a former iPhone fanbois I always envisioned a unified Android Army, but now that I have wormed my way inside I see that's not the case. Anywho, I have to major issues with Samsung, the first is that I don't like the build quality overall, it feels cheap and low end. Coming from Apple I think that's somewhat understandable, and that's why I was drawn to the One.

The second beef I have with Samsung is that they ran a series of commercials that were directed towards iPhone owners. Some found them funny, I found them obnoxious, annoying, petty and a tad juvenille. You sell your product on it's merits, not by making fun of potential customers. Because of that I will never own a Samsung ANYTHING. TV, DVD player, fridge, dishwasher etc.

Carry on.

The best part about threads like this is that people will always say something that gets them banned. You are like puppets, and the same few trolls are pulling your strings.

Get it through your heads -- there are people in these forums who only want to cause disruption. In this very thread. One day, they will step over the line and they will be shown the door.

In the meantime, stop falling for their crap and pretend they don't exist.

My opinion, I 'll get a HTC One, if you want a smoother UI, better build quality, and better speaker then go for One. S4 is a good phone, but I don't need those air view/ gesture features and from my feeling, it's not surprising, it just like an advanced version of galaxy s3. My opinion :)

A classier design not better build quality. The S4's has better build quality and arguably, a more functional design however, the One looks miles better and has nicer build materials.

This is amazing..those are the 2 reasons i mentioned why an iphone user would move to htc one...i was never an ihpone user...i have ipad 2 now and thats about it..never liked apple products much...but i could understand that from iphone owners point of view..
I started to dislike samsung also with their copying...bashing other brands tactics...the taiwanese students thing was a new low really...oh well...no galaxy for me..but 1 htc one for me and 1 htc one for my wife..we like the phone alot so this is a first for us to use the same brand at the same time...

Of course this is just because the One's design was far more ambitious than the S4's. Also, the One's build time makes it harder to keep up with demand; Not a good thing if you have to rush out phones!

The fact that this was posted here and not also in the s4 section says everything I need to know. If the original poster is leaning towards the HTC One, just go get it. You won't be disappointed. If I found this in the s4 area, I'd recommend getting that one. There is no bad choice here, just bad fanboys.

Seems the most logical way to settle this.

I agree, if it's a matter of talking yourself into one or out of the other because of a grass is greener type of thing, just follow your heart. Just the fact that the S4 is so close in quality to the One that most reviewers call it too close to call means you're going to have a hard time going wrong.

Another thing I like to point out since I've used both phones and I'm not going to be bias about anything is that having a lighter phone s4 in case does make using it a little better. Well for me at least. The s4 doesn't take too much effort to hold and use. With the One it's heavier of course. Gives a nice weight feedback but reading or using it for a long period of time hurts my wrist lol. I'm not old or have any issues but I'm a person who likes to use and have things that are effortless. Strange as that sounds. Also the stock Gmail app on the One is horrible. If you wanted to delete multiple emails you would have to tap and hold for a little and then tap another and do the same. Where as the s4 you can just click the boxes and discard which is quick and easy. Also the led notification on the 4 is better than the small little blinking light in the one's speaker.

It's funny that number 1 thread in One forum is HTC One vs S4........while S4 owner already forgot One even exist :)

3 s4 threads on 1st page! I think it should be a sticky :)

I researched both pretty exhaustively and both phones are beautiful, capable, full on flagship phones. For me, it boiled down to photography, and I preferred a higher megapixel camera. So the s4 won... at first.

Went down to see it in person, and saw an LG optimus g pro shoved off in the corner.. picked it up and fit my hand like a glove, researched it and for 200 bucks I got a screen the size of a note 2 in a slightly smaller and more comfortable package with the 13mpix camera from the s4 and 32gb storage.

I can't speak directly to speed as I have never owned a one or s4, but the ogp always does everything I ask of it instantly.

Again, I loved both the s4 and one. But when you are checking them out in person, take a quick look at the ogp as well. It's priced comparatively to the other two.

Its scary to buy LG phones because in past they've had none existent support. S4 rolling out 2nd update soon which by the way further improves camera and adds Apps to SD function....so you no longer have to worry about 16GB internal memory.

Read post #101. I was asked to post sources for the poor build quality reports for the HTC ONE. I didn't post those threads and web sites until asked. Remember, the information posted here is supposed to be for someone who is deciding what phone to buy not to satisfy one phone camp or the other. My first post in this thread was to tell the OP to check out the bug threads for both phones.
