Help - I can't access Ebay from my Android Phone

Hello all,

I have an ATT Galaxy 3 phone with Android version 2.3.6. Since yesterday, I cannot access Ebay at all. Not from the a standard browser or from Ebay Mobile. It is the only site I can't get to with the phone. It is acting like that site has gotten blocked somehow. I cleared the cache, histories, and all that in the browser. I ran a virus scan. I am out of ideas.

Ebay is main thing I use my phone for, so I'm kinda screwed at the moment. Any ideas? Is there somewhere I can go in to look and see if ebay.com has gotten blocked somehow?

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks!
 
When I put www . ebay . com into the address field of a browser, it comes back with Web page not available. It gives an error that the site might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.

When I try to go through the Ebay Mobile app, it brings up the login screen, but when I put my user name & pw in, it comes back, after a moment, saying Network not found.

I'm not a phone techie person, so I'm not sure where to look to see if maybe a malware or something has maliciously blocked just the Ebay site. I don't know what really to reinstall. Yesterday, I did install the Ebay Mobile app. Always before I just went through the browser.

I haven't really been able to find anything on the internet about the problem. I saw a few things about a host file being used to block porn sites and such. Would that be something I could go in and manually edit?

I am trying a Host file editor now, but I haven't been able to figure it out as of yet. I think it may require root access, and I'm not sure if I have that or not.

I called Ebay, but they were no help.

I'm grasping at straws at this point.

This is a known issue in the IN, MO, and KS areas for At&t customers.
It started approximately 2 days ago, and we are working on it currently.
Those states share a regional site, which is what seems to be causing the issue.

If you call in to tech support, ask them to check in NSS for trends in MO.
Unless it has been closed, or escalated on a larger scale it will be there.
But that is really all the rep will be able to tell you.

I wish I could be more help, but this is all I'd be able to tell you on the phone as well :(

Wait a minute - how did you get 2.3 on it? It comes with 4.0 or 4.1.

If I go into Settings / About Phone / it says Android Version 2.3.6. Heck, I think it's a Galaxy 3. Maybe it's not. It's a model Samsung SGH-I927.

Now that I look on the internet, it says it's a Captivate Glide. Like I said earlier, I'm not very hip on smartphones. Just a user :) Thanks
 
It should be up and working again, I think we resolved it this AM.

Working great now! Many thanks for the info, and to all you AT&T folks who got it figured out and fixed.

You probably kept me from doing something drastic with my phone in desperation.

I just got this same exact conditions on my at&t HTC one in Denver Colorado. I was wondering if the cause is the same and if it can be fixed
 
I'm getting the same response. Just this evening. Won't let me log in at all. Fix it please.

Hey everyone, i copied this from an ebay forum and worked great for me. Give it a try, hope it fixes your issue as well.


This is from the tech team ebay android app.

We have had a few other users report this issue, but we have not yet found a fix. However, one user was able to add a "country" to their primary shipping address, and that seemed to have solved it for them. Another user already had the "country" filled out, but found that when they updated their phone number, the app started working.

Please log into to your ebay account from a desktop, click on Account, then Addresses, then View All Shipping Addresses. If your Primary Shipping Address does not contain a country, please add it, then try to log in to the eBay app and let us know if that solves the issue.

If it does not, please go back to your account on your desktop, delete all of the Shipping Addresses for your account (you may want to write them down so you can add them back later), then try to log in to the eBay app and let us know if it works.

And lastly, if that does not work, please try updating your phone number on your desktop under Account, Addresses, Registration Address, Change, and let us know if that does the trick
 
i can access it neither on my s6 edge, i was on it fine yesturday n now nothing? :( does any1 kno wot i need ro do? thanks
