Hi all,

This is about a Poco X6 Pro. The phone is unuseable and unaccessable. It 'normaly' starts , I can unlock it with the pincode and from there I can only swipe the screens, no app will start. I can get in settings but there I also can do nothing. Some functions are working but most of the settings don't work.

I tried with 'adb' to get access but everything is access denied.

This all was caused by using dual apps. After setting dual apps back to normal the gets in this state.

I want to get all the photos and videos from the phone to my computer (Windows). The phone doesn't show up in Windows. I can see folders with adb but I can't get access to the folders.

[EDIT} I tried to access an other Poco X6 Pro wich is OK, I used in adb shell "cd /storage/emulated/0/DCIM/Camera" and with "ls" I can see all the photos and videos in that phone. When I try the same with the broken phone I can't get access and get the message "No such file or directory" but I can see all the folders...

In settings is are a few options missing, like: Portable Hotspot, VPN, Privacy protection, Digital Wellbeing & parental controls, and Google. Xiaomi Account is there bur I can't open it and there is no name mentioned as is on the working phone. [EDIT END]

Can someone help me with this?

Thanks in advance.

Kind regards,

Rudy

Welcome to Android Central.

I'm not sure what the situation is currently with your device. I'll try and assist if no one can help more.

I have an older Poco F2 Pro on MIUI 14 (before Hyper OS)
I've never used Dual Apps but I can test some settings, up to a point, to find what the issue is.

It sounds like you are in some other mode or account still.
Can you post screenshots of what you can and cannot access, or what app icons don't respond - if that's the case.

Welcome to Android Central forums. I agree with B. Diddy, it sounds like you are not out of dual apps, or are somehow logged into a non-admin account, because what you are describing sounds just like what one would expect if they had no privileges. Limited access to apps, limited access to settings, limited access when connected via USB...

To clarify things with this I have a few questions.

Are the apps you are able to access ones that were accessible while using Dual Apps?

Are you able to access any of the security settings, even if you put in the correct pin/password/biometric?

Did you turn off Dual Apps, just try to log out of it, or just try to go back to the main account? Sorry I'm not familiar with Dual Apps and don't really know how it works, so any information is helpful.

I did a brief online search and found this article that talks about how to end dual apps on Android.

Are any of the steps in the article ones that you used to escape Dual Apps? If not what steps did you take to get out of, close, or end dual apps?

I also found this short video with information about removing dual apps.

While I know I've done a lot of talking about dual apps I think it is important that we completely get out of/close/end dual apps before we try to go any further. If you completely end it and there is still an issue we can go from there but I would just like to be sure we're not fighting something as simple as closing or ending something.

Let us know what you find.
