help. i screwed up my phone.

i tried to update my phone and screwed it up. first i didnt back up my phone. so when i tried to apply update to 4.1.2, i tried to flash in cwm. when i restarted my phone it would go to black screen. so i backed up my wifes phone and flashed in cwm to my phone. now my phone is "hers" but with my phone number. but at least it turns on now. i want to go back to stock and start over. im still rooted and have cwm. is there a zip i can flash to achieve this? ive been trying to flash through odin but i get an error message. it turns green and says pass but when phone restarts it has error message saying computer dont recognize phone. odin shows a com port for my phone. i dont know why im having issues with odin. so would like to flash a zip in cwm. thanks in advance.

you said odin works, what file are you flashing?

im trying to flash "kies_home_L71....." which i extracted from "Samaung-updates.com-sphl71...." this should get me to back to stock unrooted.

odin has me baffled. i get error message saying "hardware id is missing. windows cannot identify the device plugged into samsung usb driver for mobil phones

that is not an odin problem.. if odin is seeing the port and passing there is something else wrong, can you link me to where you got that file.

sure but ur pushing the limits of my expertise. right now im running odin again. im running it as administrator. i put phone to download mode. i plug into odin and it shows a com port. i put the extracted kies_home...tar.md5 in the pda box it checks md5 and i start process. it loads green status bar when it gets to the end it says reset then pass. when my phone reboots the android guy pops up and the box in his belly spins then reboots but my phone stays the same.

i have another computer id like to try with odin but its a netbook and the screen is to small for me to click the start button on it. any ideas on this?

i dont understand, cant you just change the display resolution, Netbooks are not very reliable for this type of stuff but you can try it

ok my laptop wont connect to my wireless tether. CRAZY. my net book will but laptop wont. im dying over here. im bout to staart pulling hair out. so i cant install the screenshot thing.

yeah thats what i thought, the stock file you were using doesnt wipe data so it brought you back to stock but all the previous data was there.

Hard reset usually fixes any issue on a phone, but all I have to say on this subject is very careful when you do. If's like it just came out of the box. The more advanced these phones get the more changes in settings you have to do, which usually takes a lot of time. If you don't know what you are doing bring it to a repair store.

If you're still rooted you could flash stock recovery via mobile Odin and then flash the original len update zip from there.

You would have to update up to mb1.
