To get to recovery manually, I believe you hold down the home button and volume up buttons while pressing the power button. You release the home & volume up buttons after the LG logo has loaded.

As for your issues in general, it may be helpful if you provided some background. Is this a new phone? Is it rooted? What were you doing on/with the phone when the issue started? etc etc etc. These kinds of details are very essential when attempting to diagnose and repair.

bricked lg optimus v no recovery, fix?

i rooted my lg optimus v, then swype stopped working. i thought that doing a factory restore would bring it back to how it was when i first got it, and that swype would work again. i did the factory restore from system i believe, not from the recovery. now the phone wont boot. its stuck at the lg screen.
is there any way to fix this? also adb wont connect to my phone. i have the lg drivers install in my windows 7 64 bit machine, however when i plug in the phone, the computer never sees it. i also cannot access recovery, im not sure if one is installed or not. is it a lost cause? is there any way to unbrick this phone now?
any help would be greatly appreciated.
