I just downloaded about 15 ringtones. They appear in my MUSIC folder, but when I go to assign them to individual contacts or applications (like email), they don't show up as choices in the RINGTONES area. For example i clicked on email, then menu > settings >notifications >select ringtone
and none of the downloads are in the ringtone folder.

I am new to Droid, and not that tech savvy, but is there a way to get them to show up AS ringtones or move them to the ringtone folder?

Also, is there supposed to be a "Ringtone" folder somewhere on my home pages or in the applications area? ?

a quick and easy solution is to download a ringtone maker (there's a lot of free ones) and save them as ringtones through the application.
As for the location of the ringtone folder, I have no idea. I'd like to know where that is as well. I have a few duplicates that need to be erased.

I had this issue with my wife's Bionic. You have to use the music app to assign added ringtones so the phone recognizes them .
