I am considering the Nexus S on T-Mobile but I am also looking at the iPhone 4 on Verizon.

I want the Nexus S for the pure google experience but I also like the iPhone 4.

I can't decide but I have to decide soon before Verizon and T-Mobile gets rid of Unlimited data

And I am not considering the Sprint one because that's the carrier I am dropping and I hear too many problems with the Sprint version plus Sprint problems in itself.

How's the coverage where you live/work/play? All things being equal on the provider front, then I'd go with T-Mo. Much cheaper than Verizon. :)

Isn't Motorola phones normally laden with bloatware?

And coverage is excellent for me with Verizon and good with T-mobile. Forgot to mention I get a 20% discount with Verizon and a 10% with Tmobile

that's like ignoring an annoying girl who refuses to stop talking ;)

Seriously though, I like my Evo and all, but it's potential is limited due to bloatware and such

I've got both on AT&T..

Great phones, but I like the iPhone better in terms of the screen(nothing compares to the retina display) camera, and snappiness of iOS/apps.. Android apps just seem choppier and don't load up nearly as fast. The Nexus S definitely wins my heart over with the unlimited customization and form factor(just feels better in my hand than an i4) .. Also the larger screen is a positive even despite it not being as clear as an i4's..

Basically I find them equal but I lean a tad more towards the i4..

Well, if price for the service doesn't win it, then....

I vote for the Nexus S, if for no other reason than this being a Nexus S forum

Seriously though, I've messed around with the iPhone, and while it's polished and very nice, it seems like Android phones adopt the personality of their owner. No two are the same. Where as, no matter whose iPhone I use, it's just an, well, iPhone. Really, iPhone v4 added support for wallpapers, and yet, every iPhone/iPad I see is still on the default! :p

(and being in IT, I see a lot of different iPhones/iPads at my company)

They're both great phones. I had both, currently have the Nexus S. I still felt sad when I mailed off my iPhone 4 which I just sold on eBay. I was an iPhone user for 4 years nearly.

I would take advantage of the cancellation period and try both. The iPhone 4 has a better and faster camera, though I like the "Share" functionality on the Nexus S better.

I use Linux so iTunes is a PITA for me because I have to run a virtual machine. Transferring stuff to the phone that way is REALLY slow. That is the main reason I went with the Nexus S.

The iPhone 4 is a better multimedia device though. And it's bluetooth works better. (you have to remember to turn off WIFI prior to paring your Nexus S or it will be flakey and disconnect often.)

The Apple App Store is vastly superior but for most core stuff you can get by nearly as well on Android. The Apps feel a bit less polished, but they also integrate better on Android. Generally the Android Market will cover all your bases, but definitely with fewer choices.

Honestly it's hard to choose unless there are specific factors. I will admit Android takes a bit more work to use than iOS, but for gadget nerds that can be fun. You can customize things more. There are things Apple won't let you do, but a lot of users won't care.

Like I said, iTunes was the big killer for me. Being able to sync my NS with Bashee is a huge plus.

Cool, both sides seem balanced. Main thing is I get a hefty discount with Verizon that puts it on the same price(or cheaper depending what I choose) than my Sprint contract.

Plus I know how to jailbreak an iDevice since I was able to jailbreak my old iPod touch

iPhone.... I am dead serious Verizon has one of THE best networks in the entire country.... sure it's not ideal for travel, but really the reliability of Verizon is amazing and their speeds are among the best I have ever seen on a CDMA carrier. Besides the random LTE shutdowns, it is a really reliable service, and for sure you can expect AT&T to have some issues with their LTE network when it starts up. In the end though you have to look at what you need on the phone and where and how you will be using it.

iPhone 4: basic smartphone needs, iOS really dampens the word "smartphone" however the network is reliable and just overall going to last longer( keep in mind AT&T and T-Mobile might merge) however the phone is really out dated and here at the Android Central forums, iPhones are for sinners xD

Nexus S: Android offers a whole complex operating system which in the end meets power users AND basic users needs quite well. This is what I believe is the DEFINITION of "smartphone" it is a great phone and the operating system is great for a power user such as myself the T-Mobile network is probably the fastest 3g networks out of the big 4, but they were one of the last networks to start effectively pushing 3g, so their coverage is really just flat out terrible compared to Verizon. Plus there is the possibility that T-Mobile will be merged with AT&T ( I don't think so because the majority of the cons definitely outweigh the pros)

What should you pick? I would say it is your decision buy I have not a clue why you pinned just these two devices, Verizon was one of tthe first carriers to start pushing Android and it has been a success, they have the most Android devices out of any other carrier.

My choice for you? Droid X2, big screen, nice cameras, Android 2.2( it's something), Motoblur( this is great if you are a social networking addict, it may look not as nice as other UIs) it offers everything Android and Verizon, sure you don't have 4g, but as of now the network just isn't stable enough to actually want it.

Good luck in choosing your next device. Hope I helped.

I have recently owned both. I had just returned my iPhone yesterday and went with Sprint's Nexus S. I liked the iPhone's hardware. I am not a fan of IOS anymore. Android is definitely a smarter and more capable operating system. The hardware on the Nexus S isn't bad. The phone is quite light and attractive. ITunes still cannot be beaten but the simple fact that you still have to connect your phone to a computer for some things bothers me. Everything is in the cloud with Android. Don't forget about the OTA updates on Android. The displays are great on both but in different ways. Of course the Nexus is bigger. But the Super AMOLED display really looks good to me. I don't like that you can see the pixels, but it hasn't bothered me too much. The retina display is really sharp, but doesn't have the contrast that the super AMOLED display has. As far as accessories, there are far more accessories for the iPhone. So you have more choices there. Gaming on both is great, but the better games are in the Apple app store. Android is slightly behind in this department. GPS on the Nexus is free and awesome. Even the paid options on the iPhone don't compare. Both offer a vanilla experience, but Google has many more of their services integrated into it. If you use Google, the Nexus is the best in the business.

Man, can't go wrong either way and btw, I don't care about "what's in date" as I only care about a phone being good, not laggy, and not too far back.

I've considered the Droids before, but I can't really deal with Verizon's bloatware and 2.3 should've been on the Droid X2. But that's just me.
