I'm a total newbie when it comes to flashing ROMs and whatnot.

I got clockwork installed correctly and downloaded the superclean ROM to my SD card.

I rebooted into recovery and tried a data wipe/factory reset. It ran and ran and ran for over an hour and I couldn't find any info on the web about how long it should take so I pulled the battery thinking it was hung.

I now boot up and it goes into Android System Recovery. At the bottom it says "Manual Mode"

The SD card is still installed.

It gives me the following options but I can't select any of them.

Reboot system now
apply sdcard:update.zip
wipe data/factory reset
wipe data cache partition

What can I do?

Did you use odin to flash and install the kernel for clovkwork recovery?

Yes I used Odin to install clockwork and I'm not sure about installing the Kernel for clockwork. I downloaded and ran ROM Manager and clicked the Clockwork option.......

From that recovery screen hit the 2nd option. Apply update. That should take you into clock work....excuse typos and my response time. I'm in the car

I got advice from the XDA forums and they told me to Select apply sdcard:update.zip, and press home softkey

This got me into clockwork and rebooted into my previous ROM.

How long should I wait for Clockwork to wipe my data?

Lol just said that...like a minute or so. Depends on how much you have

Can you reboot into the phone?

Yeah I've gotten the phone back up and running with the previous stock ROM I had. I'm running the wipe again right now currently but its still just hanging as far as I can tell.

Ok recovery again but this time wipe cache first

The cache wipes fine... the data on the other hand doesn't wipe. It just hangs saying wiping data......

I've renamed a bunch of apks to get rid of alot of the vzw stuff but nothing that has affected system operation.

I can think of three options.
1. Just go head and flash but Im not positive of how it will react.

2. Restore to stock via odin

3. Restore from settings> privacy

No matter your choice odin can get you back to stock. Worst comes to worst. You start over

I believe I've gotten the superclean rom flashed successfully but I'm not sure how to tell. The phone seems to respond much faster to launching apps and general navigation changing homescreens.

What should it say differently?

Firmware is still 2.1-update 1
Kernel: 2.6.29
Build Number SCH-I500.DI01

well you are still on di01 atleast. were you trying to go to dj05? i would def recomend it. did you get a sucessful data wipe? if not reflash cwm with odin. then make sure you get the proper modem and then you can download a rom or you can use the ones from rom manager. i like the build your own from sonofskywalker3, it lets you pick what you want to include.

I was finally able to get a successful data wipe and got all my apps reinstalled. What are the advantages of dj05? Is there an easier way of getting all my apps back other than redownloading them from the market?

I have made a backup of my apps folder. Can I just copy the apks back into the app directory after a flash?
