Can anyone help me install update 6.12.173 on my RAZR? I installed clockworkmod recovery so whenever I try to update it stops it. Can anyone offer any help or advice?

I was thinking about doing that. Any advice on how to do it, I'm new to CW so I don't know how to remove the recovery?

In your other post about how you installed CWR, your link to the install instructions. In that link was a link to the entire thread on XDA: [CWM On Boot][Any Razr] Now we have recovery boot is possible! [Remove PKG added] - xda-developers

Quoting:

[Removing CWM on Boot]
1. Attachment file(RAZR-CWMOnBoot-Remove-J.Y.Daddy.zip) download and copy at SDcard.(/sdcard-ext)
2. Recovery boot.
3. in recovery menu: "install zip from sdcard" -> "choose zip from sdcard" -> select file.
4. reboot.
Recovery does not boot anymore.

End-Quote

Go there, and there are instructions to remove it.

Good luck.

Thanks for the help djousma, it helped me remove CWR however it seems like I have new problem. When I tried updating my phone it failed and aborted (this happened twice). I went to the last log text file to see what could have been the problem but I don't understand a thing it says. Here is a pic:

Could you or someone else please tell me what might have caused the update to fail and abort?

I cannot see the pic at work(blocked), but did you use root to uninstall any of the verizon supplied bloat? If so, others have reported that the update fails. Best way to remove bloat is to just freeze it with Ti, and leave it in place. the upgrades look for all that software, and if it cannot be found, the update does not complete.

Others in this forum have had this problem.

Thanks for the reply djousma. I don't think I removed any of the Verizon bloatware so I don't think that's the problem. If you get a chance to look at the picture and you can tell what the problems is, please let me know, any help would be greatly appreciated.

I dont recognize that error. I'm sorry I cant be more help. the only possible suggestion I can make is to reload your current level from scratch(search the forum), and then before you do anything, get the OTA, and then root again after that.
