Help me settle some buyer's remorse (Pre to Epic)

funny i found this today. i went from the Pre to the Epic because Andriod had the apps i needed to run my business. i have had the phone for about 2 months now and have to admit i like it a lot better then i thought. it took a while to get real used to the way the whole system works but i have it down fairly well not and can work it.

my ex-stepdaughter stoped by to say hi the other day and saw i had a new phone and asked for my Pre. so as i was setting it up for her, i realized how much more i still like the WebOS compared to Android. not that Android is a bad system i just prefer the workings of WebOS. but i love the screen on the Epic so much better and i do prefer the bigger keypad.

realizing how much more i liked WebOS it made me excited again for CES. i remember the news where HP will bring 6-7 new products to the market next year and i can not wait for the first phone. if they have the apps i need i will switch back in a heart beat.

I also moved from the Pre to the Epic. I am relatively happy with the Epic; however, I am very unhappy with Samsung and with Sprint for dragging their feet on providing Froyo! I was choosing between and Epic and the EVO and chose to get the Epic for the physical keyboard, that I don't use. You know who got the Froyo and who didn't. I should have gone with HTC and the EVO! Or better yet, moved to Verison and another phone.

if you really want froyo, then why don't you load one on the phone? There are 3 leaks and plenty of custom ROMs. Its very easy to do and reversible if you can't stand it.

I too came to the Epic from a Pre. No remorse, I love the Epic! Does just about everything quickly and better then the Pre ie. voice search, better browser, amazing camera for video and pics and a ton of other stuff.

Now i got the Epic because of its GPU power over the Evo and i guess if I did have remorse it would be that android doesnt have enough games available for use of my awesome GPU. I really hope gingerbread has hardware acceleration to utilize the GPU as I love a smooth scrolling browser and UI.

I am still a webos fan and still miss the true multitasking it provided. To me the multitasking on android seems harder and doesnt work sometimes. Maybe I just dont know how to use it still.

The Pre Bluetooth car interface blows away the Epic one. My Epic keeps dropping the phone connection after phone calls, even though BT is still on. Pre never did that! (Ford Escape with MS Sync).

It all depends what you need. Epic has big-name apps, big shiny screen. Pre is nicer to use.

Froyo is officially out now for the Epic, so price cuts might not happen or might not be as low. If you waited this long, wait for CES then make your decision.

i went from pre to epic also. i loved webos. as an operating system i had no complaints. it just didn't have enough apps that i wanted and the hardware was too boring and dated. but man did i love how easy it was to patch and how dedicated the community and palm were to the users. and no fragmentation.

i am kinda bummed that i paid for angry birds on the pre but have to deal with ads on android. i would gladly pay for it again, but mostly now i really want them to offer a way to save game data to the sd so i don't lose the data when i flash to stock. oh well, small gripes.

overall i still love my webos phone and use it as a web device at home, but am glad i switched to the epic for my real phone use. the battery life alone was worth the switch.
