Help, my phones touch screen is not responding! What should i do?

Today I used my phone like normal, and I was playing a game. Then out of nowhere I was going to press a button on the game when my touch screen wasn't responding. So I tried and tried again to press it but nothing happened. So I tried pressing the power button and all it did was turn the screen on and off but I couldn't unlock my phone. The screen was functioning normally but I couldn't touch anything. I never dropped my phone, it was never dropped in water, and it has never done this before. What should I do?

Try first a Power Off and Restart. If no go, it may need repairer attention

I tried pressing the restart or power off but it doesn't do anything
