That's an acceptable error message - just keep on going.

ok i was able to install custom recovery and I went ahead and installed the LEGOrom but unfortunately it has navigation issues so can I just delete all of the zip files thus far put on the root for custom recovery and rooting as well as the legorom before I install a rom thats a bit more stable?

Yes, when you put files on the root of your SD card, once you do whatever it is you have been instructed to do with them (flash, copy to phone, etc.), you can remove them...they are no longer necessary. From what it sounds like, you now have a rooted phone with custom recovery on it, so you are all set to start testing out whatever ROMs you wish.

Optimus-s cutoms rom

Ok so rooted
also custom recovery
and then I flashed custom rom legoRom which for some reason the navigation wouldnt work
so I flashed the thunderom v1.7 which instead of 3g I get 1x? whats that??
also navigation is an issue with this rom
the navigation worked just fine with the stock rom so is there something missing here?

i forgot to mention the little satellite icon does appear and the little green bars are there also.

its just when I click on the navigation it just show the loading icon and says checking navigation availability

am I missing a driver or something

oh and the internet is intermittent now im sad
You're on V9 lol .... you could have just run z4root and been done ;)

Root for V9 - HERE
Root for VC - HERE

V9 = Easy peasy 30 second job
VC = Less easy need SDK, JDK, drivers, LG software, a windows PC and maybe 10 minutes.

whats v9? kernel 2.6.32.9?

Anyways I id a restore of my nand and the gps works great so I know its those two roms

oh and the internet is intermittent now im sad

::looks around:: Didn't you say that same thing 11 minutes prior or am i going crazy??

EDIT - Check the last page of the ThundeROM thread. I posted a version that SHOULD (keyword) work for V9 BUT should NOT (another keyword) be flashed by anyone using a VC baseband because it breaks certain things to make it work on V9 :)

Yeah I did say it twice only because I tried twice lol sorry for the twitter relapse there.

So the v9 will work better on the kernel I am running?

I mean really the only thing I wanted was to delete some of the stock apps that were eating ram and just annoying and stop the OTA notifications but to do so I needed to root and so tinkering with the roms will be a off and on basis that will bebased off of reviews that I will read from the android forums
Where would I go about finding updates rather then taking the ota from sprint for stock roms? well lol guess I could check the forum lol
