[HELP] News app that provides full length, phone optimized articles?

Hello all, I used to be a proponent of Google News and Flipboard, as they provided full length, phone optimized articles (text & pictures only, no web UI) for reading.

However, both apps have stopped providing optimized articles but are instead just showing mobile webpages (at least on Android smartphones).

Are there any apps, paid or free, that still provide optimized reading experiences? I'm looking for something that allows me to add different sources, not just a "BBC for Android" type of app.

I would also not prefer generic RSS readers like Feedly as they are reliant on the feeds themselves for full length of excerpts of articles.

I've been seeing ads for a new one, I think called Smart News. I haven't looked into it because it's not something I'd use, but may be worth checking out to see if it has what you're looking for.

Remember also, it's not the app that's providing the news, the app just displays what it gets from a server. It's the server hat provides the news. Look on news feeds for Android apps for the site.
